Membership is open year-round by audition, with many new members typically joining at the start of each fall season through Zoom auditions held in August. We're currently welcoming inquiries for the 2025–2026 season in all sections, with a special interest in horn, low brass, and percussion.

RIWE is a concert wind band of approximately 50 skilled professional and avocational adult musicians who believe that live music brings people together—and that it is a gift all people deserve. We strive to present the best of traditional wind band repertoire alongside works by underrepresented and historically marginalized composers. Our mission is to provide audiences of all ages and backgrounds access to live music of the highest quality, and to celebrate the benefits of lifelong music making.

Our season runs from Labor Day through the Fourth of July, with Thursday evening rehearsals from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Riverside Middle School in East Providence. Each season includes seven indoor concerts and a few early summer outdoor pops performances.
