Returning for its fourth year to Scituate’s “Christmas in the Village” celebration, the Rhode Island Wind Ensemble presents a festive holiday concert honoring our first responders. The program includes seasonal favorites like Sleigh Ride, a fireside retelling of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, and Kelley Lennon’s playful take on Santa Baby. From the charm of Parade of the Wooden Soldiers to a joyful carol sing-along, this heartwarming concert is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

The Rhode Island Wind Ensemble kicks off America’s 250th anniversary year with Made in America, performed in the stunning atrium of the Newport Marriott. From Copland’s iconic Fanfare for the Common Man to Sousa’s George Washington Bicentennial and Gould’s American Salute, the program highlights the rich tapestry of American music, including ragtime, blues, and film. Donations from this event will benefit Historic Music of Newport, supporting the preservation and performance of America’s musical heritage.

Sixteenth Annual Chamber Recital
Now in its sixteenth year, RIWE’s Chamber Music Recital showcases the talents of ensemble members in an intimate, conductor-free setting at Temple Sinai. The program features a wide range of works for small ensembles, from classical favorites to contemporary gems and jazz-inspired selections.

Coming Home
Our season finale, Coming Home, welcomes acclaimed percussion soloist and Moses Brown alumnus Peter Ferry ’09 back to campus for a special performance. Set in the beautiful Woodman Center at Moses Brown School, the program reflects on the meaning of home with works by Sousa, Ives, Dvořák, and Persichetti, along with a featured solo by Ferry.

Music That Tells a Story – Cranston reprises key selections from our Providence performance and adds compelling new works to create a full-length concert experience. More stories unfold through music in a vivid portrait of a pivotal Civil War battle, a poignant tribute to civil rights icon Rosa Parks, and an electrifying depiction of J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendary wizard, Gandalf.

Music That Tells a Story – Providence opens our fifty-sixth season with a joyful side-by-side concert at Providence’s Mount Pleasant High School, featuring students from MPHS’s Music CTE Academy. This family-friendly event includes multimedia performances with synchronized video, live Spanish translation, an interactive pre-concert session with the conductor, and a madcap musical retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic tale of prejudice and persistence, Green Eggs and Ham. Families can also enjoy free prize giveaways — including books, Amazon gift cards, and Kindle e-readers — and stay for a post-concert meal where musicians and guests mingle and connect.
