The Rhode Island Wind Ensemble kicks off America’s 250th anniversary year with Made in America, performed in the stunning atrium of the Newport Marriott. Featuring works by John Philip Sousa, Scott Joplin, Morton Gould and others, the program highlights the rich tapestry of American music—from patriotic tributes and bold orchestral statements to ragtime, blues, and iconic television scores. Special guest soloists are Dan Healy (trumpet) and Collin Tyrrell (trombone) performing a brand-new double concerto with the ensemble. Donations from this event will benefit Historic Music of Newport, supporting the preservation and performance of America’s musical heritage.
